Happy National Blueberry Day!

It is blueberry time in Northern Ontario which means the black flies are also out. Did you know that the rock loving wild blueberry bush is pollinated by black flies? Blueberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C and Vitamin K as well as manganese which is important for bone integrity. This super food has shown to combat cancer and slow down dementia. So enjoy a handful at every opportunity or add to your cereal, salad or desserts. There is nothing like a fresh slice of blueberry pie with a scoop of ice cream and enjoy, knowing you are eating a healthy super food. Just be careful as blueberries are high in fiber and can be laxative. I am kicking back currently with my summer blueberry wine. Cheers!
