Reflective Listening

There are several ways to do be a good listener. One very good way to listen and to draw more information out of a person is by reflecting back to them what they just said. For example, if they said ‘It is a beautiful day”, you would say “It is a beautiful day?” and then they would expand on why they thought it is a beautiful day.

Try this technique with a partner or spouse and you may be surprised by the information that you extract. You may not get what you expect, which will make you a better listener.
